The 2009 Trip Report
Letter to parents and balance sheet
In January 2009, Bowral High School is embarking on a 2 week trip to Vietnam and Cambodia.
The purpose of this trip is to gain cultural and educational understanding and deliver aid to two disadvantaged Cambodian Schools; Sambath Primary School and VDCP (Volunteer Development Children Poverty) School in Siem Reap, both of which Bowral High School has supported over the past 3 years.
We raise funds to help these students continued their English studies in order for them to gain employment and hopefully break the cycle of poverty that they find themselves in. We help provide essential learning equipment such as computers, books, writing equipment as well as helping to pay for teachers. During our trip, our group comprising of 31 students will visit these schools to deliver materials, as well as assist the students in their English Studies and generally forge links between these schools and Bowral High School. In order to continue to provide opportunities for these schools students, we have commenced a fundraising program.
